Mark Twain's writing was【小题1】on his own childhood and his personal experience. What makes this story great is that Tom Sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. It is a story filled with【小题2】,adventure,ingenious(巧妙的)ideas,love,and schoolyard politics. The whole story is seemingly a complication of what Twain did or wishes he did during his childhood.
The book is a little difficult to read at first. Perhaps,it will take you a little【小题3】to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. But on the whole, the book is an enjoyable read for people of all ages. I highly【小题4】this book for anyone looking forward to feeling young again

Mark Twain is someone Americans are taught to love. Older relatives, English teachers and the media always praise him. But when you actually take the time to read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, you find that his work is more wonderful than you could ever i

The Scottish teacher who received it in class had no idea what the girt who wrote it meant. The essay was written in a form of English used in cell phone text messages. Text messages(also called SMS)through cell phones became very popular in the late 1990s. At first, mobile phone companies thought that text messaging would be a good way to send messages to customers, but customers quickly began to use the text messaging service to send messages to each other. Teenagers in particular enjoyed using text messaging, and they began to create a new language for messages called "texting".
A text message is limited to 160 characters, including letters, spaces, and numbers, so messages must be kept short. In addition, typing on the small key pad of a cell phone is difficult, so it's common to make words shorter. In texting, a single letter or number can represent a word, like "r" for "are", "u" for "you", and "2" for "two". Several letters can also represent a phrase, like "lol" for "laughing out loud". Another characteristic of texting is the leaving out of letters in a word, like spelling "please" as "pls".
Some parents and teachers worry that texting will make children bad spellers and bad writers. The student who wrote the essay at the top of this page said writing in that way was more comfortable for her.(The essay said, "My summer holidays were a complete waste of time. Before, we used to go to New York to see my brother, his girlfriend, and their three kids face to face.")
Not everyone agreed that texting is a bad thing. Some experts say languages always develop, and this is just another way in which English is changing. Other people believe texting will disappear soon. New technology for voice messages may soon make text messages a thing of the past.
Mark Twain, the famous American writer and a great master of humor, liked to play jokes on others. But once a joke was played on him. One day Mark Twain was invited to give a talk in a small town. At lunch he met a young man,one of his friends.
The young man said that he had an uncle with him. He told Mark Twain that his uncle never laughed or smiled, and that nobody and nothing was able to make his uncle smile or laugh.
"You bring your uncle to my talk this evening,"said Mark Twain. " I'm sure I can make him laugh.
That evening the young man and his uncle sat in the front. Mark Twain began to speak. He told several funny stories and made everyone in the room laugh. But the man never even smiled. Mark Twain told more funny stories, but the old man still kept quiet. Mark Twain continued to tell his funny stories. Finally he stopped. He was tired and quite disappointed.
Some days later,Mark Twain told another friend what had happened. "Oh,"said his friend. "I know that man. He's been deaf for years."
My favorite great book is The Adventure of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Tom lives with his aunt Polly in a quiet street of St. Petersburg, Missouri. He's a lively and clever young boy, and he finds himself in many exciting adventures. He runs away with his two friends, Huck Finn and Joe, to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River for several days. With Huck he goes looking for treasure, with Becky he gets lost in a cave. And finally, they find a box of gold.
My favorite scene in the book is when everyone thinks Tom is dead. He decides to go to his own funeral. He hides and watches for a time and then suddenly he appears. Everyone is surprised to see him but they're also pleased to see him alive.
Tom is the hero of the story, but there are other important characters. Huck is an outsider and everyone is afraid of him. Becky is pretty with fair hair,Joe is Tom's best friend, and Injun Joe is the bad man of the story. The theme of the story is about children growing up. It describes how strangers are seen in small towns of America. Finally,it talks about freedom, social rules and how people are punished(惩罚)for bad behavior.
Why do I think The Adventure of Tom Sawyer is a great book?Mark Twain wrote the story in 1876,but it's still read and loved by people all over the world today. And although it's only a story. Twain wrote it in the everyday English of the southern states of America in the 19th century,so it sounds very real. Today it's thought to be one of the greatest books in American literature. Go on to read it!I know you'll enjoy it,too.
